Oscar Peterson's first trio, promoted by Norman Granz, with Herb Ellis and Ray Brown, is for many of us "The" legendary trio. Unquestionably it has left us with some of the most important moments in the history of jazz. And it is therefore not without a certain nerve that pianist Philippe Duchemin and his musicians take on this monumental figure. Of course, these three fellows are in no way newcomers! In the languorous ballads just as in the up-beat tempos, in the footsteps of their elders, they create a most exhilarating swing.
